Complete Story




Emily Schlenker was born and raised in Auglaize County, Ohio. She is a proud graduate of Wapakoneta High School, attended The Ohio State University graduating in 2001 with a BA in English and received certification in 2003 from the Capital University Law School and Columbus Bar Association as a Paralegal with a concentration in Civil Litigation. Emily worked as a Paralegal in Law offices in Columbus, and Lima, Ohio until 2015 when she started her career in the Auglaize County Recorder’s office.  In 2018, she was appointed Auglaize County Recorder and successfully navigated her first election in 2020. 

Outside of the office Emily is member of the Auglaize County Republican Central Committee and  is a passionate supporter of Auglaize County Youth organizations including 4-H, FFA, and Wapakoneta High School Athletics.  She rarely misses an OSU football game and enjoys attending local county events. She resides in Buckland, Ohio with her husband, Derron Hollenbacher and is a mom to her 4 legged babies, a Cocker Spaniel/ King Charles Caviler mix named Ladybug and a German Shepherd named Gracie.  In her limited free time she is an avid reader, family historian, traveler and gardener.  Emily loves spending time with her family and is extremely proud of her Auglaize County family heritage which she can trace back to 1841.
